I want to share with you a simple hypnosis technique I use for my children when they struggle to go to sleep. There was a time when I remember that my daughter refused to fall asleep because of a bad dream she had the night before. I reminded her that bad dreams were not real and how they can't hurt her body but that she could use a special part of her imagination to help her.
Here is the hypnosis technique I used: Talk to your child softly, calmly and slowly and tell your child to take big, long, slow breaths. Say, “Imagine that you are filling a balloon in the bottom of your tummy. That’s right..slowly breathe in as much air as you can to fill that balloon…hold it for a few seconds...and then slowly let the air out.” After a few minutes of deep breathing have your child imagine a beautiful park and get your child to imagine this park in detail as you encourage more use of their imagination with more questions about their special park. Once your child has imagined their special park I want you to ask your child what their favourite animal is. Then ask what his or her favourite colour is. You will explain to your child how this animal will come into your child’s dreams tonight and protect her all night long. For example, “You can imagine feeling really calm and happy right now…and imagine a strong tall horse with a green saddle. Imagine your horse is going to help you with good or bad dreams and help talk to you in your dreams as well as make you feel safe.” It is normal for children to experience nightmares but when nightmares occur more and more frequently it’s clear that the child or person is experiencing some emotional stress or difficulties in their waking lives. In case reports discussed by Kohen and Olness (2011) in the book titled, “Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy for Children,” hypnotherapy, within 4-5 sessions, helped treat children who experienced insomnia, nightmares, and night terrors. When the clinicians followed up 3 and 7 months later all of these cases documented didn’t report any concerns of reoccurrence of these issues. Hypnotherapy sessions with a certified hypnotherapist can benefit your child because not only can the child receive suggestions for changing the negative symptoms but the hypnotherapist can also work on the underlying issues that may be causing the sleep disturbances or dreams. How do you connect to people over the phone and online?
The truth is when I was a little girl I actually used to see tiny hair, little silver cords that connected everybody and it used to be like walking through spider webs but of course they weren’t. People would tell me I was crazy because I would talk about these cords that no one else could see. Through these cords I could feel things and see things and I was aware of different feelings. I knew I was different because I was told I was different. I did grow up around a lot of Gypsy’s so it wasn’t that I was totally different, it was accepted in a way. The first time I was aware that it was really a gift was one time at my great aunt’s house and I could see her son, his name was Tommy and he was standing there in an air pilot uniform, and he was telling me what to say to his mom. I was about 11 years old and my mother was there and took me out of the room. She told me “do you know Tommy’s been dead for a long time and he died in the battle of Britain”. I was young and I said he didn’t look dead to me. That is when my mom decided it was time to teach me how to use my gift. My grandmother was a well-known psychic but I never met her or knew her. My mother had the gift but she refused to tap into it and use it. We connect through those little cords and it’s like the 6 degrees of separation. Usually now because I’ve been doing it for so long I can recognize if they are dead or alive, but not always. To get an accurate reading from those energies I have to meditate to tap into that cord that connects to that person. I’m one of the very few psychics that can go into crowds and be totally ok with it. I have an on and off switch, which has taken me practice mastering. Not that long ago I was watching Steven Colbert and he was interviewing Neil Degrassi Tyson world renowned physicist and they were talking about the strings that connect us all. And they now have a microscope that can see it all. |
